It's been a while since I've been back to Gellert Park in Daly City, CA. It's exactly like I remembered it, freezing. My cousin Jovanie decided to have his daughter Leanne's baptism party here despite the possible rain and cold weather. No parking, loud music, giant Red Ribbon cake and and even more giant fried pig (lechon) all the essentials of a traditional party, if you grew up in foggy DC. I loved the memories that came up and the conversations with the young and old. Surprisingly, my dad introduced Cam to family members as son-in-law Cam. Lol. Pretty ballsy for my dad. Cam was re-familiarized with traditional Filipino food, we were all well fed and enjoyed the time with the family.
