Puka Dog

So the Travel Channel had a segment about this place on "FOOD CRAZY HOT DOG HEAVENS" and I believe Anthony Bourdain did a piece about this spot too. Well, Cam remembered it and off we went in search for the famous Puka Dog. Thank god for cell phones because we found it pretty easily. So... what makes this hot dog so famous? Everything! So.. they have french rolls that they skewer on these metal rods so it basically toasts the bun from the inside. The bun now has a perfect hole to fit the hot dog! So they squirt in the sauce you want.. *see the menu above. And stick the hot dog in and there you go! A Puka Dog. I had the polish, mild with mango relish and lilikoi guava mustard. Oh my goodness, it was pretty damn good. The french roll was crunch and the mustard was delicious! I would totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It's right behind the International Market Place on Kuhio Ave.
