morning bloggin & Tacolicous

It's about 6:51am on a Saturday and why am I awake? Because Roscoe decided he wanted to get up. Now that I'm up, I might as well recap last night's fun. Cam & I had dinner at Tacolicious in the Marina. Typical Marina scene, loud 25-35 somethings, too much visual stimulation, trendy food. But Tacolicious isn't your typical taqueria. They proudly boast using nothing but local produce and natural meat products. And their famous chili con queso is supposedly vegan, but that might just be a rumor. I was hoping they'd have their queso fundidio but it wasn't on their menu. Cam & I shared a taco platter and the chili con queso. I have never once shared a taco with Cam so their tacos had to be pretty big for that to happen. Their selection of meats validates their pricing. Filet migon, short rib & braised chicken. When have you ever seen that at a taqueria? The house made cocktails were pretty tasty, vino de pomelo for me (kettle 1, grapefruit, vanilla & albarino) and flor de jamaica for cam (hibiscus tea, don julio blanco, lemon, lime). We didn't grab dessert so that'll probably be another blog.
